Janet Roy, Forensic Genealogy Consultant, Janet has worked with MacKinnon & Bowes, since 2009, Janet assisted the Directorate of History and Heritage, Canadian National Defence with the identification of soldiers, who have been recovered from past conflicts. Her task was to find specific living relatives for DNA testing. She was the Genealogist on the pioneering team that identified the first Canadian WWI missing after action soldier, Private Herbert Peterson, with the use of DNA.
Janet believes in giving back to her community. She is a Past Chairperson for the Ontario Genealogy Society, Thunder Bay District, Branch and serves in various capacities in her church. She and her husband Stan volunteer with www.lifewater.ca, providing safe drinking water for parts of Africa and Haiti as well as www.memoministry.org/ medical equipment modernization opportunity to Cuba and El Salvador as well as their church, New Life Christian Fellowship.
